Welcome to my class page! I would like to give you a little information about myself. I have been married to my husband, Jerry, for twenty-seven years, and we have five beautiful children. All of our children have graduated from St. Pius, and have graduated, or are currently attending Bishop Kelley. I graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and spent time in Houston working in the family medicine department. After we married, we moved to Somerville, Texas where my husband and I ran a rural health clinic. After having children, I stayed home until my youngest, Kelsey, entered kindergarten. At that point in time, I started the alternative certification process, and upon completion, I began my first teaching position at Sts. Peter and Paul as a middle school math and science teacher. I am currently in my fourth year teaching at St. Pius.
My approach to teaching is to build a family oriented classroom environment. I want my students to know that I care about them personally, and that I will try to challenge them academically so they can achieve more than they thought possible. I try to bring in different ways of approaching material to try reaching all students. My goal is to guide and nurture my students to develop both academically and spiritually. I believe that every person has been blessed with gifts and talents by God. It is our duty to develop those gifts, and then share them with others. In order to develop our gifts and talents, we must understand how to use them. We can do that through academic growth and spiritual maturity.
