Graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha with BS in Secondary Education - teaching areas in political science and social studies. Taught for several years in the Omaha area. Then took graduate courses at U of Nebraska to receive a Special Education Endorsement from the State of Nebraska. Also endorsed in SPED and elementary education in Oklahoma, as well as most subjects at the secondary level. Taught Special Education for 10 years in Sand Springs. Then retired, but continued to teach part time for TPS until I found the perfect position for my “retirement”.
I have tutored for St. Pius since the fall of 2012, and am currently tutoring middle school students who need a little extra help in certain subjects. Most of my students attend my class during their specials on specific days of the week, or come during a core class if the teacher thinks they need individual guidance. This year some students attend study lab instead of Spanish (with special permission and criteria.) In addition, I am also the Academic Bowl coach, along with volunteer Jill Cole, and several other parents who help.
I truly enjoy teaching here at St. Pius X, the students, parents, and faculty have a special relationship. Our Catholic faith and commitment to educational excellence give our school and its members a common bond.
