School News:  

School will be closed for Christmas break, Wednesday, December 20th -Tuesday, January 2nd.  Classes will resume on Wednesday, January 3rd.  We wish all our families a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year!

St. Pius X Christmas Program

All St. Pius X students in 1st -5th grade will perform. The Dress code for the program is dressing up for Christmas!

Girls are welcome to wear pants, dresses, or skirts, No heels allowed as they are standing on risers and could fall.  Boys need to wear slacks and Christmas, themed or colored, shirts, sweaters.  Remember the key is to dress up, not down.  Thank you, Mrs. Jenifer Phillips

  • Wear Red and Green DayPlease refer to the Parent/Student Handbook for appropriate free dress guidelines.

Thank you!

Thank you to all who contributed and participated in the St. Pius X “Peace on Earth” float in the Tulsa Christmas Parade last weekend. Special thanks to Christy Brown for overseeing the project, as well as the Brown, McKinstry and Bierig families. 

 

Uniform Check

As a reminder, the Parent/Student Handbook states that uniform jumper and skirts should be 4 inches from the floor when kneeling.  Please check your students length during the Christmas Break!

 

Kindergarten Testing

Testing for the 2018-19 school year will be offered on Saturday, February 3rd.  If your child will be 5 by September 1, 2018, please call the school office at 918.627.5367 to schedule an appointment.  Testing is free!

 

Preschool Enrollment

If you are interested in enrolling your child in the St. Pius X Preschool program for the 2018-19 school year, please call the school office at 918.627.5367.  Online Enrollment will begin in February.  Please remember that your child must be 3 by September 1, 2018.

St. Pius X Yearbook

Return completed forms to the school office by Tuesday, December 19th.

 

Earn Care and Share Hours over Help the SPX Library 

At-Home service Hours Available over the Christmas Break: The library is looking for a volunteer to put iron-on transfers onto canvas bags.  If you have an iron and are in need of some service hours, please contact Ms. Iten in the library at titen@spxtulsa.org

Home and School News: 

Home & School will be serving Cookies & Milk following the Christmas Program on Thursday in Dorney Hall. St. Pius X Spirit Night Winterfest tickets will also be available to purchase for $5 each. Please stop by enjoy some treats and purchase your Spirit Night tickets too!

$5 Advance tickets ONLY through the School Office!  Deadline to purchase tickets for the $5 price is Friday, December 15th.  Tickets will be available the day of event for $12 per person.

 

Box Tops

 Home and School has a Box Top Snowball Fight brewing, so save your Box Tops!  January is sure to bring a BIG snow fall and the start of a Class Snowball Fight!  For every 10 Box Tops turned in through the month of January, your class will earn a snowball.  More details coming soon! 

 

Athletic News:

Thank you to the volunteers that made this weekends DMSAA Middle School Pre-season Basketball Tournament a success! Our teams played hard and represented St. Pius X very well!  A special thank you to Katie Dale who put together our online volunteer sign up that made volunteering easy to do!

 

Baseball and Softball teams will begin forming in January.  If your child is interested in participating on a St. Pius X Team, please contact Royce Ellington royceellington@gmail.com as soon as possible.

 

 

Church News: 

Holy Communion Parents:

  • Holy Communion folders went home with your child last week.
  • Have fun with your child as you work on the activities in the booklet and share memories of when you received these beautiful Sacraments.
  • Baptism certificate copies must be turned in to Mrs. Hausher before a child can receive Reconciliation or Holy Communion.
  • Mandatory parent meeting for all Reconciliation/Communion parents will be on January 10th in Dorney Hall, 6:40-7:25 pm.

 

Looking for a unique Christmas gift for someone who calls (or called) St. Pius X home? The Parish is selling limited edition "Legacy" books for $15. This 36-page hardcover photo book tells the story of our church and school through the photos and stories of parishioners and parents.
