We are excited to welcome these educators to our faculty and staff for the 2018-19 school year!
Ms. Anne Scalet joins us as new Assistant Principal. Ms. Scalet comes to SPX with 33 years of Catholic school service experience. She worked as a teacher at Monte Cassino School for 22 years, and 11 years at All Saints Catholic School as Principal.
Ms. Scalet is a graduate of St. Pius X, as are all of her siblings. She is very excited to be “coming home” to our St. Pius community. Ms. Scalet has 4 children and one grandchild, and she is hopeful that her grandchild will one day be a St. Pius X student.
She looks forward to working with incoming Principal Mrs. Heidi McCoy, learning the mission of the school, and getting to know the teachers, students, and parents of our church school community!
Mrs. Lauren Lawson returns to St. Pius X to teach Middle School Language Arts and 6th grade Homeroom. Mrs. Lawson received her undergraduate degree at University of Tulsa in elementary education and earned a graduate degree from Oklahoma State University in school counseling. She taught at Tulsa Public Schools for four years before coming to St. Pius X in 2009 to teach 5th grade. She took a break from teaching to raise her children, including a son who had a liver transplant in the DFW area when he was 2 years old. Her two children will join her as St. Pius X students next year. She looks forward to teaching Middle School reading and writing with a focus on research using MLA format.
Mr. Joseph Quinones joins St. Pius X as our new 5th grade teacher. He is an ACE Teaching Fellow with plans to be a part of our community for the next two years. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Notre Dame. Mr. Quinones attended Catholic schools his entire career, most recently Notre Dame and previously as an honors graduate of Bishop Amat High School in La Puente, CA. His interests include boxing, martial arts, track & field, traveling and aeronautics. He will be working alongside Mrs. Lynn Glover teaching religion, social studies, science and math.
